Aragami using shadow essence.
Shadow essence is the essence affiliated with the pure element of shadows (also called darkness). It is most commonly wielded by Shadow adepts, aragamis, and Shadow assassins, allowing them to perform what is known as Shadow techniques, special attacks and abilities derived from manipulating this essence and recharging their power by staying in shadows. Though powerful, users of Shadow essence are weak against light and light essence, with brighter sources draining their power and objects derived from light being acting as a bane.[1]
All playable characters (Aragami, Hyo, Shinobu) utilize this very essence in-game.
